Ben Moore I found out about Colin Phils last September from a buddy in the US. I immediately fell in love with this album and literally played it everyday during September. The emotions and vibes coming through the music are so real - they're absolutely banging musicians too! Would highly recommend for any music collection.

C.O.D.O.A.H. Probably my favorite discovery in TwentyTwenty. The dynamic, these guys create, just grabs you, holds you tight, and lulls you into a pleasant melancholie. It's one of those You'll-Find-Something-New-On-Each-Spin records... From light hearted indie tunes to haunting soundscapes and shiver causing shouts - they got you covered. Imagine Delta Sleep (love them), but more intense. This is one for the long run. Trust me. Favorite track: La Fin.

Jarryd Gillen Colin Phils intuition for pacing, heartfelt lyrics and outrageous skill combine for this wonderful album. I didn't think it could get better than your material on Star Charts, however I am happy to say I was wrong. Bravo! Favorite track: Myrsa.

When I think of you I can only think of good and it's how I should Cause it is the truth These memories are washing over me I'll take you with me You're here

Trust/Fall 04:19
And so I wait, but I'm impatient Caught my eye, but I'm blind I'd like to think that I'm the one, who's pulling all the strings Grab life and all by my own means I want it all And I want nothing Take control, of the outcome Stand on a chair Arms out to the side Head straight forward like you just don't care but I do, but I do Now I'm here, facing all these walls that I've created Feeling like this time I might be jaded Still slipping down these walls that I've created Thinking how this time I might be Hated slipping down these walls that I've created but I'm here, but I'm here, but here, here, here and I'm waiting, waiting waiting ON MYSELF! 4x

I can only do what I can do Take your judgments. Keep them to yourself. I can only do what I can do. I hope the air tastes good up there on your high horse See if I care(4x) I guess you do I can only do what I can do I'm not perfect. Guessing same for you. I can only what I can do It must be hard to see when you're looking down your nose up there On the couch right there I'll be sitting there I can only do what I can do Is it cold in here or is it only you? I can only do what I can do Don't at me. Turn around. I don't need you. I can only do what I can do Take your judgments keep them to yourself I can only do what I can do I hope the air tastes good up there.

I Love You 05:09
And we can know And we can read Forgiving you, is good for me And we can know And we can read Forgiving you, is forgiving me And there I was, I locked my keys in the car And there you were, you looked as frail as ever And here I am, dealing with these hard questions I saw you cry, and for the first time I knew You are human, human I love, I love you, I love you Despite all the things that you've done to Push me out of your life There seems to be no resolution Give it time I love, I love you, I love you Despite all the things that you've done to Push me out of your life There seems to be no resolution Give it time I love, I love you, I love you Despite all the things that you've done to Push me out of your life There seems to be no resolution Give it time

Myrsa 06:05
I'm still angry at myself, for losing all the ties with you And I'm angry at myself, for who I still am And I question, I wonder Would you be happy, would you be proud And I question, I wonder Would you be happy with me, with me? I'm still angry at myself, for losing all the ties with you And I'm angry at myself, for who I still am And I question, I wonder Would you be happy, would you be proud And I question, I wonder Would you be happy with me? With me, with me We had five years with nothing No conversation, no nothing Five years

"Frenemies" premiered by Fecking Bahamas:
"This week we find Colin Phils in fine form, strutting with their newest single ‘Frenemies’ off the upcoming Trust/Fall, replete with twangy staccato guitar loops, soothing vocal harmonies and luscious textures. Fans of Delta Sleep, Enemies and Colour will not be disappointed with this gorgeous surge of interwoven math rock and indie. Math rock’s great jetsetters are back in full form."

"I Love You" premiered by The Alternative:
“I Love You” takes its time, knitting tapped guitar lines together for over a minute before the vocals come in, almost like the song’s subject matter requires a little throat clearing–a moment to compose oneself before attempting to tell a difficult story. Ben Tiner, guitarist and vocalist, had this to say about the song: “This song ‘I Love You’ is about my mom who passed away in January 2017. The physical act of writing and even saying some of the words out loud was (and is) cathartic. This song specifically talks about the day I found out, so upset I accidentally locked my keys in the car after we had just played a show out in Lynchburg, VA. It was freezing cold, nearly midnight, all our gear and belongings in the vehicle. It was truly awful. A few days after I flew back out to California, where I’m from, and the song continues on that timeline.”

The song is achingly beautiful, a meditation on what forgiveness means in the face of loss. Stream it below ahead of its official release Wednesday, 2/12.
